My name is Evan Lane, and I am a Theatre Educator and a proud graduate of Ball State University in the fall of 2020. I was born and spent most of my childhood in Sound Beach, New York before moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana as a teenager. I then went on to graduate high school at R. Nelson Snider, where my love for theatre truly grew into what it is today. Since starting high school, I have had the pleasure of participating in over 30 different productions, some of my favorites include: The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, The Addams Family, Midsummer/Jersey, and The Christmas Carol.
As well as my acting experience, I have had the pleasure to direct, lighting design, and stage manage multiple shows, most recently being the Technical Director and Assistant Director of the award-winning Westfield High School theatre program.
While at Ball State, I had the pleasure of studying under Michael Daehn, a recipient of the EDTA's Founders' Award and co-founder of the prism project, and the late Dr. Troy Dobosiewicz, who studied the art of teaching acting under David Mamet.
Currently, I am getting my MFA in Lighting Design from The Ohio State University.
I have a passion for all that is theatre, and my life's goal is to share that passion with the world. Theatre changed my life, and I want to instill as many students as possible with the same opportunity that I was given.
